Generate your API Key

Here you will find instructions on how to generate the API Access Key required to avail of the DB Content & Availability API from SiteMinder.

NOTE: The DB Content & Availability API will only be available to groups with Multi-Property enabled in their SiteConnect Platform. Groups on the classic version of the SiteMinder Channel Manager will not be able to avail of the DB Content & Availability API.

Initially, an Admin User will see the following screen in Direct Booking > API, where this user will be able to generate an API Key.

If this screen is greyed out, this will mean your user does not have the correct privileges to view and edit this page. Please have your organisation upgrade your user, or have this task completed by an admin user.

Your system will look like the following if both Primary API Key and Alternate API Key have been issued.

• For security reasons, we do advise that you only issue the Alternative API Access Key if and when it is required, at which time you should revoke the original key and proceed using only the alternative key.

NOTE:Only one key should be active at any given time.
