Integration Process
Understand the full integration journey with SiteMinder APIs, from setup to go-live, including future enhancements.
The following phases outline the general steps for integrating with SiteMinder APIs. While specific details may vary based on the API, these phases provide a comprehensive overview of the process.
Phase 1 - Initiation
During this phase, API details and documentation are provided, and necessary information is collected to commence the integration. A test account is set up for your development team to begin working in a controlled environment.
Phase 2 - Development
Access to the test account and essential resources, such as API documentation and support materials, is granted. The development team can begin coding and testing the integration in the designated test environment, ensuring compatibility with SiteMinder’s platform.
Phase 3 - Certification
After development, the integration enters the certification phase, which involves executing test scenarios and following a structured test plan. This ensures that the integration meets all required standards. Upon successful completion, the integration is officially certified.
Phase 4 - Production
Following certification completion, production configuration is finalized, and the integration moves into the production environment. If required, a pilot phase will be conducted by connecting a hotel or property to the production system to confirm operational readiness. This phase acts as a live operational trial, ensuring the connection functions as expected.
Phase 5 - Live
If a pilot phase was completed, the connection will be officially marked as live once it passes all checks. For APIs that don’t require a pilot, the integration is marked as live after successful production configuration. Internal teams are notified, and the integration becomes fully operational for ongoing use.
